If you live and work in Gippsland, and are you looking to strengthen your leadership skills and make meaningful new connections – this program is for you!
The Gippsland Community Leadership Program (GCLP) offers a powerful opportunity to grow your skills, deepen your regional insight, and build lasting connections across sectors.
Why GCLP might be for you:
- Over a 10-month program (February to November), participants engage in a mix of residential retreats, workshop days, and themed field visits across Gippsland.
- The program emphasises experiential learning — through group work, individual challenges, observational learning, and collaborative projects.
- A key feature is the participant-led community project, where syndicate groups choose a local issue to address and bring real change through action.
- GCLP isn’t just about leadership theory — it’s about getting to know Gippsland places, people and opportunities intimately.
- Selection seeks to represent Gippsland’s diversity — considering age, gender, cultural background, local government areas, and industries in forming each cohort.
Since its launch in 1996, more than 700 Gippslanders have completed the program, many going on to serve in local government, business, non-profits, and public service roles.
