In September 2023, Gippsland Forestry Hub’s General Manager, Lesia Goodwin participated in the Gippsland Fores Dialogue’s ‘What’s Next’ Dialogue.
Over the course of 3 days, the third Gippsland Forest Dialogue covered conversations on the future of Gippsland’s forests and forest dependent communities. In particular, exploring ways to support the aspirations of Traditional Owners, and other Aboriginal people of the region, to manage and care for Country.
A highlight for Lesia was visiting Gunaikurnai Land and waters Aboriginal Corporation (GLaWAC) for a discussion with community leaders.
What is the Gippsland Forest Dialogue?
A new initiative founded by a group of passionate Gippslanders from all walks of life who have come together to talk about how best to look after our forests and explore possible futures for forests in the Gippsland region.
